What To Bring
Here is a list of things to bring to your tax appointment. This list may not include everything. If you have any documents you think should be brought, please bring them and we will discuss them. Most of all make a list of your questions and we will be happy to answer them. |
• Wage statements (Form W-2) • Interest, Dividend and Investment Account Year End Documents • Pension, or retirement income (1099-Rs) • Dependents' Social Security numbers and dates of birth • Last year's tax return (if we did not prepare it) • Information on education expenses • Sales of stocks and/or bonds and your purchases/basis in the stock or bond • Self-employed business income and expenses • Lottery and/or gambling winnings and losses • State refund amount • Social Security and/or unemployment income • Income and expenses from rentals • Alimony paid or received • Record of purchase or sale of real estate
| • Medical and dental expenses • Real estate, sales tax on autos and home improvements (or all items if you kept track) • A paycheck stub • Estimated taxes or foreign taxes paid • Cash and non-cash charitable donations (receipts are mandatory) • Mortgage or home equity loan interest paid (1098) • Closing papers if you purchased or refinanced a home • Un-reimbursed employment-related expenses • Job-related educational expenses • Childcare expenses and provider information • Purchase information for energy credits • IRA Contributions • Casualty Loss information if it exceeded 10% of your income.
